Mika founded Lit4Kids after becoming concerned about educational gaps affecting elementary students who did not always have access to additional academic support. She began with literacy-focused workshops and later incorporated hands-on STEM activities after seeing how strongly students responded to active learning.
The program also became a vehicle for student leadership. Mika helped recruit and train high school volunteers to teach, mentor, and lead workshops, creating a structure intended to continue beyond a single founder.
Lit4Kids now represents one of the clearest examples of Mika's broader interests coming together: education, service, communication, leadership, and program building.
